“Lost Nation has been a really important part of
my career. As an intern, I sometimes worked very long
hours on short schedules. However, I also learned a tremendous
amount about acting from the directors, actors, and other
interns. Lost Nation consistently chooses challenging and
interesting shows, which allow interns to grow in a supportive
environment. The experience is a lot of fun, too! Montpelier
is a beautiful, friendly Vermont city, and the community
strongly supports the theater. The friends I made at Lost
Nation and in Montpelier have become like family to me.”

“My summer at Lost Nation Theatre was one I'll never forget. Of course, you can say that about any summer, but my summer at LNT was a great summer. I worked along side some very wonderful and talented people both on and off stage. And the end result was making some very great contacts in professional theatre. Some of the most rewarding moments of the summer came from working along side my fellow interns. I learned three very important rules this summer...work hard, play harder, and nap wisely.” — Troy Miller Intern 2001, 2002
“Although I sometimes wished I didn’t have
so much to do, especially when I was performing as Ann
in A Little Night Music while rehearsing for Wind
in the Willows, I really liked having responsibility for
some major creative tasks as part of the production team
for Amy’s View—and the trust that was placed
in me to carry them out as I saw fit, and not only having
to sweep and sort screws. I really appreciate all the support
I got at LNT.”

“At first I was thrown by what I found at LNT. I wasn’t told how I was supposed to “fit in”. It was very different from what’d I’d experienced in college. But I realize I’ve learned so much more from finding my own way. I really value the breadth of experience—the variety of Equity role models, the flexibility I gained from working with different “bosses” who all had different expectations—on and off the stage. I think there’s a very successful ‘compromise’ between the ‘individual’ and the ‘whole’ here. LNT is really special. I really felt part of the Company and that everything I did mattered.” — Donovan Sherman Intern, 2000
