Lost Nation Theater offers several in-school and out-of-school programs geared towards middle school, high school and college students. Our Will-on-Wheels workshops are accessible to students of all ages, at every stage of their development and training. Full student participation is encouraged. Workshops illuminate historically authentic rehearsal techniques. Students discover how many words Shakespeare invented, have fun speaking spontaneously in iambic pentameter, and experience the exhilarating, high-energy spirit of Shakespeare.
Will-on-Wheels offers custom-designed programs to reflect your students’ particular interests and needs.
Will-on-Wheels Workshop Possibilities include:
Taming Shakespeare! Using Othello as a model, we unveil the power of the spoken word as a vital and fun vehicle for self-expression, and provide the key to “read the map” of Shakespeare. Other Shakespeare plays may also be used as teaching models.
Stage Combat! Led a certified actor/combatant, the techniques of hand-to-hand, single sword, rapier, and dagger stage fights are explored. Demonstrations are included.
Act Now! Focusing on the interconnection of the actor’s body, breath, and emotion, this unit teaches basic acting technique, and can also address the unique situation of auditions, if desired.
Will Power! A guided discussion on “the business” of being in the arts.
Cost: 45-minute workshop: $250; 2-hour workshop: $500
(Discount on workshop, when tickets are purchased.)
